.The Socrates method , also known as method  of elenchus, elenctic method  or Socratic debate, is a form of cooperative argumentative dilogiog between individuals, based on asking and answering questions to stimulate critical thinking and to draw out ideas and underlying presuppositions.

Socrates was a classical Greek philosopher credited as one of the founders of Western philosophy, and as being the first moral philosopher, of the Western ethical tradition of thought.
